Bio
Irene D. Ferradaz is a seasoned communications and media professional with more than two decades of experience shaping strategic messaging and storytelling across the Miami and Chicago markets. She brings a proven ability to craft creative, impactful campaigns that elevate community programs and connect with diverse audiences.
Irene began her career with Miami-Dade County government, serving in key communications roles across several departments, including the Office of the Mayor, Water and Sewer, Building Code Compliance, and the former Miami-Dade Transit Department (now Miami-Dade Transportation and Public Works). In 2016, she joined the Chicago Transit Authority — the nation’s second-largest transit agency — where she led complex marketing and public relations initiatives, managed crisis communications, and coordinated large-scale public events, including major grand openings.
Driven by her passion for public service and community impact, Irene returned to her hometown of Miami to join Florida International University, where she earned her Master of Public Administration degree. Today, she is proud to work with the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy, helping showcase JGI’s impact on public policy discourse in the areas of national security, cyber policy, and prosecutorial policy.
