Bio

Professor Guiribitey is a Teaching Professor of Spanish Studies and coordinator of the lower-division Spanish program. She holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from FIU, a Master's in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from the University of Valencia, and a specialization certificate in Methodology and Didactic Planning from the University of La Rioja, Spain. Her academic background supports a practical, student-centered approach to language and culture instruction. Since 2013, she has mentored dual enrollment Spanish courses, guiding high school teachers in delivering college-level material. She also serves as an official examiner and administrator of DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera)  in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes. She directs a study abroad program in Salamanca, Spain, where students engage directly with local communities to enhance their linguistic and intercultural skills. Professor Guiribitey remains dedicated to professional growth through regular participation in conferences, webinars, and training focused on second language acquisition and pedagogy.
