Bio
Mark Medish is Vice Chair and Director of Panterra—a strategic advisory and communications firm headquartered in London supporting corporations, governments, and leaders. He has over 35 years of professional experience as a lawyer, policy expert and consultant.He served in senior roles in the U.S. government during the Clinton administration, including as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Russian, Ukrainian, and Eurasian Affairs on the National Security Council and Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Treasury. Mr. Medish also worked in senior posts at USAID in the Department of State and at the United Nations (UNDP).
His previous business leadership posts include: president of The Messina Group, a strategic communications firm based in Washington, D.C.; president of the international division of Guggenheim Partners, an asset management company headquartered in Chicago; and equity partner at Akin Gump, an international law firm where he led the sovereign advisory practice. He was also Vice President at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
He serves on several corporate and non-profit advisory boards as well as on the Green School’s Dean’s Advisory Board.
Mr. Medish graduated summa from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and earned JD and MA degrees from Harvard University. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Oxford University and also won Mellon, Luce and Shintaro Abe fellowships.
