The creation of the LACC Interdisciplinary Affinity Working Groups was announced by LACC Interim Director, Dr. Jose Miguel Cruz at the LACC Affiliated Faculty Luncheon on September 25.

Aligned with LACC’s new strategic priorities for programming and investment, and as part of an effort to support and increase interdisciplinary faculty (re)engagement with the Center, LACC’s Affiliated Faculty Affinity Groups reflect some of the most common areas of interest following cross-disciplinary university-wide faculty consultations conducted by LACC’s Director and Associate Director. Chaired or co-chaired by LACC faculty, the new affinity groups focus on Human Rights, Rule of Law and Authoritarianism; The Amazon; Cultural Production and Industries; and Health and Community Wellbeing in Latin America and the Caribbean.
