Bio

Eduardo Caldera serves as Program Coordinator at the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy. In his role, Mr. Caldera is responsible for the academic advising of many of the Gordon Institute Academic Programs such as the undergraduate certificates in National Security Studies, Cybersecurity Intelligence & Information Policy, and Public Policy and graduate certificate in National Security Studies. Mr. Caldera advises students on essential classes that align with the students' academic degrees and the Institute's respective certificate fields. Additionally, Mr. Caldera also oversees the Gordon Institute’s Micro-Credential Course Offerings in Fundamentals of Public Advocacy and Foundations of Cyber Operations. These course offerings are available to all FIU Students at no additional costs and aim to improve students core competencies on essential skill sets to prepare them for the workforce.

Lastly, Mr. Caldera is responsible for the coordination, planning, and execution of the Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (IC-CAE) Intelligence Fellowship Program, a workforce development program geared towards preparing students for careers in National Security and Cybersecurity. Mr. Caldera manages the day-to-day affairs of the program, supporting students’ intent on pursuing careers in federal government/private sectors. Mr. Caldera works alongside the Gordon Institute Leadership team to serve as liaison to industry partners both from the public and private sectors to coordinate university visits that connect students directly to hiring managers and recruiters.

Mr. Caldera is a proud two-time FIU Alumnus, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 2022 from the Steven J. Green School for International and Public Affairs and a Master’s in International Business in 2024 from the FIU Chapman Graduate School of Business. Additionally, Mr. Caldera holds two undergraduate certificates in Latin America and the Caribbean Studies and Human Rights and Political Transition.

Prior to coming to the Gordon Institute, Mr. Caldera worked as an Office Assistant in the Office of the Dean for the FIU Nicole Wertheim Nursing & Health Sciences where he supported the day-to-day affairs of the Office of Dean regarding event planning, budgeting, and travel.
