Bio

Ms. Yvette C. Wooley is currently an adjunct professor with the Gordon Institute (JGI) at Florida International University (FIU). As such she teaches National Security; Analytic Writing; and Effective Governmental Communication to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a certificate in the National Security Studies Program. A retired Senior Executive with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Ms. Wooley’s last assignment (2009-2014) was as the ranking DIA official at US Southern Command in Doral. Ms. Wooley also served as a senior analyst, an advisor to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and a Strategic Planner. During her DIA career, she was selected as a Congressional Fellow on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee as a professional staffer for the late Senator Jesse Helms (NC). She has a M.A. and B.S. from Georgetown University, and she has a M.S. from the Eisenhower School at National Defense University, also in Washington D.C. She earned various training certificates from Harvard’s Kennedy School; Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies; the University of Virginia’s Darden Business School; and the Inter-American Defense College. She is a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers and the DIA Alumni Association.
