Bio

Since 2001 Rodney Earl Walton has taught FIU courses on the military and political history of the United States and Europe. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1973, including a year with military intelligence in Vietnam. In 1976 he earned a law degree from Cornell and worked as a civil litigation attorney in South Florida for more than twenty years. He received his Ph. D. in history from FIU in 2009. He is the author of Big Guns, Brave Men: Mobile Artillery Observers and the Battle for Okinawa (2013).
