Bio

Alex, an FIU alumna, is a seasoned public relations/communications professional with over 25 years of experience in higher education, healthcare, and recruitment communications. Her previous roles included Grant Writer and Grant Director at Miami Dade College (MDC) for the Mellon Foundation’s $2.8 million Humanities Edge grant awarded to MDC and FIU, and she was Associate Director of Public Relations Communications at the University of Miami. She has taught FIU undergraduates and has created and managed content strategies, thought leadership initiatives, brand building, speaker placement and message training. She is an expert editor and bylined author, and has handled many media pitches to media outlets, digital platforms, reporters, and editors. Alex is a people-oriented, authentic, and a highly relatable professional team contributor.
