Bio
Ms. Valerie Hall is a vibrant, enthusiastic, and energetic educator. She has served as an officiant of law enforcement, retiring after serving honorably for twenty-five (25) years as a Detective in the South Florida area. Her passion for law enforcement and police science spilled over into the classroom while she held numerous adjunct professorial duties in the Criminal Justice field. What truly sets her apart is her ability to adapt and transition, as she made a complete shift from law enforcement to academia.
In the fall of 2011, Ms. Hall brought her passion for academics and her care for the overall welfare of young adults to the illustrious Florida Memorial University. She served as a Department Program Coordinator/ Chairperson for the School of Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Criminal Justice, a position she held until her appointment as the Interim and later Dean of Students. Her nurturing and supportive nature can best be described as extreme, as she always puts the welfare of her students first.
Throughout her career, Ms. Hall's extensive experience in criminal justice, her highly respected roles, and her support for the business sector have earned her much-deserved recognition. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Systems from Barry University, Miami Shores, FL. Her academic journey continued with two Master of Science degrees in Judicial Administration and Public Management from St. Thomas University. Currently, she is a PhD Candidate at St. Thomas University, focusing her research on Artificial Intelligence, Facial Recognition, Innovative Policing, and Women in Leadership.
