Bio

Jailer D. Sánchez-Madrigal teaches Spanish Language for about 20 years out of 28 years of his teaching career. He began teaching DE in 2017, when he was hired at Coral Gables SHS. In 2011, Mr. Sanchez-Madrigal joined the Modern Languages Department as Adjunct Professor teaching several Spanish courses for FIU on-campus and on-line respectively. Prior to moving to Miami, Mr. Sánchez-Madrigal taught Spanish Language at Temple University, PA (2008-2011) and Auburn University, AL (2006-2008). Before, he taught Anthropology and Theology for the Theological Institute of Comillas University, Spain [Villa Clara, Cuba, campus] (1996-2005).

Mr. Sánchez-Madrigal holds a Master's in Hispanic Studies (Auburn University, 2008) and the Education Specialist in Spanish (Temple University, 2011). He is Spanish native speaker and proficient in English, Russian, classical Latin, and ancient Greek. Most recently he has been awarded with the Recognition of Service Award to the Florida International University Dual Enrollment Program (2024), recipient of the University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award (2023), and nominated as Coral Gables SHS Teacher of the Year (2022). Mr. Sánchez-Madrigal is a life member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society (2007).
