When FIU created the School of International and Public Affairs in Summer 2008, it fulfilled the 1971 promise of the university’s founders to promote globally engaged citizens.
Today, the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs educates the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow through innovative teaching and research that advances global understanding, contributes to policy solutions and promotes international dialogue.
In 2015, a transformative gift from Ambassador Steven J. Green, his wife Dorothea Green and daughter Kimberly Green further cemented FIU’s place as an institution of international import – and Miami’s status as a truly global city.
Our late Founding Dean, John F. Stack, Jr. contributed to the building of FIU from its early years and his vision for the School and steadfast support of its students, staff, and faculty created a lasting legacy for us all.
Today, the Green School enrolls more than 4,700 students and employs nearly 335 faculty. We offer 35 degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels, as well as nearly 61 certificate programs.
Dr. Shlomi Dinar, Dean
