November 12, 2026: Opening of Jazz to Junkanoo

Reception and performance of Russ Spiegel’s Jazz to Junkanoo performance at the
Sanctuary of the Arts St. Mary Campus (formerly St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church).
Tickets to the event will be available for purchase in October.

November 14: Exhibition and Cultural Resource Fair

1pm-5pm: Pop up exhibition exploring the tradition of Junkanoo and the history of
Bahamians in South Florida.
Representatives of cultural organizations will have interactive activities for visitors and will
be sharing information about their organization.

Culture fair participants will include American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress,
the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Digital Library of the Caribbean, Profiles in Black Miami,
The Bethel House Bahamian-American Museum and Exceptional Educational Outreach
Bahamas.
