Jasmine Doyle is an incoming graduate student in the Combined African and African Diaspora Studies M.A./Ph.D. in History pathway at Florida International University (FIU). A third-generation resident of West Coconut Grove, her academic and professional interests are rooted in preserving and amplifying the histories, cultures, and lived experiences of Black communities in South Florida and across the African diaspora.
Jasmine received her Bachelor of Science in African American Studies from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) where she worked as an undergraduate assistant for the Center of African and African American Studies. Her scholarship also examines issues of historical displacement, gentrification, and community resilience, topics she explored as a featured speaker during FAMU's Diasporic Dialogue series with her presentation, "$50 to Over Half a Million: Black Homeownership in Miami's Oldest Black Community (Coconut Grove)" Grounded in her deep connection to her community, Jasmine is committed to using history as a tool for education, advocacy, and social impact. Her work reflects a belief that preserving the past is essential to shaping a more informed and equitable future.
