Admissions

All applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education, or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution with a minimum upper-division GPA of 3.0.

Students who are in the final stages of completing their bachelor's degree are encouraged to apply before graduation. Applicants may be considered for admission provided they will have completed all requirements for their bachelor's degree before the start of their first term in the Master of Arts in Global Affairs program.

These admission requirements are minimums and not all students meeting them are assured admission. Students with a grade-point average below the above minimums may still apply to be considered for an admission waiver. The student must provide an explanation as to why the waiver should be approved.

Steps to Apply

Follow the steps below to apply for admission to the Master of Arts in Global Affairs program:

  1. Submit a graduate application through the FIU Graduate School Online Application portal and pay the non-refundable $30.00 USD application fee.                                        No supporting documents are required to submit the initial application.
  2. Once your application has been submitted and is active in the system, a program coordinator will contact you with guidance on the remaining admissions requirements and next steps in the application process.
  3. Submit the required application materials. You do not need to wait until all materials are ready before submitting your application. Supporting documents may be submitted individually as they become available. After your graduate application has been submitted, you may email your application materials directly to maga@fiu.edu for processing.
