Bio

Carol “Jodie” Breece has been a public servant for over twenty-three years. She is currently the General Counsel to the Broward Inspector General. She is also an Adjunct Professor for Florida International University’s Master of Public Administration program, teaching Professionalism and Ethics. For four years, she was the Ethics Counsel to the Broward Inspector General, responsible for the ethics training, guidance, investigations, and prosecution of county and municipal public officials and employees. Formerly, she was a Traffic Hearing Officer for Miami-Dade County Court, the Chief Assistant Statewide Prosecutor for Miami, and an Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County.

She holds her B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and her J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law by The Florida Bar, AV-Preeminent Rated by Martindale Hubbell, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Inspector General. She serves or has served on numerous boards and committees of The Florida Bar, voluntary bar associations, and other local community and professional organizations. She is admitted to practice law in all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
