Bob Marley Symposium

On March 6, the Latin American and Caribbean Center hosted Dr. Michael Barnett, a visiting professor who specializes in Caribbean Culture and African and African Diaspora Studies at the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica. A Rastafari practitioner and researcher, Barnett organized a tribute to Bob Marley and his contributions to Rastafarianism. The event featured Dr. Barnett; Jabulani Tafari, founder of Rootz magazine; Roger Steffens, lecturer and Reggae archivist; History Man, Jamaican artist; and the surprise presentation by the physician who attended Bob Marley for the last years of his life.
