Dr. Paul S. George is a professor of history at the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus and historian at HistoryMiami. He holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in history from Florida State University and has authored 15 books and nearly 200 articles, as well as book reviews, columns and numerous unpublished manuscripts. Dr. George has won several awards, including Miami’s Outstanding Historian and Mr. Miami History by Miami New Times, Historian of the Year by the Miami Woman’s Club and The Best of Miami by Miami Today, among others. He is also the editor of Tequesta, the scholarly journal of the Historical Association of Southern Florida, and the same organization’s HM magazine.
