Robert Herrada

Bio

Robert Herrada directly assists Sweetwater's Mayor in managing a variety of the city’s daily operations and $22 million budget. In addition, he is responsible for planning and executing all Economic Development efforts, oversees grant applications and procurement (RFP’s, ITB’s, RFQ’s), is in charge of capital improvement(s) coordination and intergovernmental affairs.

During his 15+ years’ service to the city and its residents, he has played a pivotal administrative role in securing and managing millions of dollars of grant funding; has lent administrative support for a variety of capital improvement and re-development projects (the University City District and the Northern Sweetwater redevelopment areas) from inception to close-out; and helped conduct due diligence for various municipal annexation efforts (including the historic Dolphin Mall area annexation). He has also spearheaded numerous partnerships geared towards improving quality of life in the city with public, private and non-profit entities.

Robert also serves as an adjunct instructor in the department of Public Policy and Administration in the FIU Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs.

Mr. Herrada holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from FIU and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Rollins College in Central Florida.
