From February 16 to 18, 2015, the FEDOMU and FIU hosted the Dominican Republic Seminar and Workshop. The seminar/workshop covered Decentralization, Governance, and the role of municipal associations in Chile, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic. This workshop focused on the exchange of ideas and methods in order to bring more responsibility of public services and governance to small, local and municipal governments in the countries. It is important for this decentralization to occur and bring a greater role to the developing communities to help shape good governance and policies in the respective countries. The seminar covered various topics including performance evaluation of various municipal associations, their policies and the strengthening of these associations to help promote decentralization.
