From November 10 to 16, the Institute for Public Management & Community Service will be offering a graduate course in Morocco. This course will focus on the process of transition to democracy and efforts to achieve good governance using Morocco as a case study. Morocco is a monarchy which is in the process of attempting to introduce greater participation and some forms of democracy; it is a particularly interesting place to look at in order to achieve a better understanding of those factors which contribute to democratic transitions and good governance. Because of this reality, the Moroccan experience illustrates both the complexity of such processes as well as the difficulty of strengthening sometimes fragile political institutions. The course is open to all doctoral and Master’s degree students. For more information, call 305-348-1271.
